Kasollet e Zanave

Kasollet e Zanave brings a restaurant, village activities and accommodation together in the hills of Prapashticë. The project grew from conversations among friends during the pandemic, with the aim of giving families more time together outdoors. Its setting includes an animal garden, a playground and a village shop with traditional foods and crafts, so a meal can form part of a longer countryside visit.

The restaurant combines Albanian building traditions with contemporary furnishings. Stone, wood and clay shape the facade, while woven branches around the counter recall old courtyard fences. A fireplace visible from all sides forms the centre of the dining room. There are tables indoors and on the terrace, with another outdoor area beneath plum trees called Hija e Kumbullave.

Cooking draws on Albanian and international traditions, using produce from the village greenhouse and nearby farmers. Meat is prepared on an Argentine style grill. The drinks selection includes local and international wines, plum rakia made from fruit gathered in the village, and seasonal fruit juices. These give the restaurant a connection to the surrounding land beyond the view from the table.
