Casa Brito occupies Pasaje Ter in Visvique, in the municipality of Arucas. José González Brito opened the restaurant at the end of 1998, giving it a rustic interior with timber beams, exposed brick and two dining areas. There is also a separate bar where Iberian ham and island cheeses feature. A wood fired grill in the main dining room is central to the kitchen. The meat selection ranges from Galician beef and Simmental cuts to Angus from Uruguay or Argentina and Wagyu from Japan or Chile. Iberian pork appears as secreto, presa and pluma, alongside cheeks cooked in their own juices. Lamb chops and slowly cooked shoulders broaden the choice beyond beef. The rest of the menu gives a table plenty to share before the main course. Starters include island cheeses from small producers, house croquettes, octopus in tempura and a spiced lamb pastry with orange honey. Vegetables grilled with black truffle oil sit beside salads with avocado, watercress or tuna belly. Fish dishes include wreckfish with coriander sauce and prawns, cod in Biscayan sauce and grilled salmon with mustard and dill. For dessert, the restaurant highlights burnt rice pudding and homemade guava ice cream. The dining rooms are air conditioned, and the house lists parking, Wi-Fi, card payment and a private room among its facilities. Reservation requests are accepted, with confirmation dependent on available space; the restaurant advises allowing up to a day for a reply. It is a restaurant to consider when a meal built around grilled meat is the main purpose of the outing.
