Villa Marie – Gasthaus an der Elbe

Villa Marie is now a German-style gasthaus beside the Elbe, with views towards the Blaues Wunder. The change matters if you remember its earlier Italian restaurant identity: the current house presents traditional inn cooking and Augustiner beer from Munich. A substantial wooden beer counter anchors the ground floor, while the upper restaurant has large windows facing the river and bridge.

The building predates the bridge. It was constructed in 1860 as Mon Bijou, acquired the name Villa Marie around 1930, and later became a meeting place for Dresden's artists. Following restoration, the house and garden opened as a restaurant in 1994. Today the Kosiol family brings that older villa setting together with a more informal food-and-beer approach.

The menu includes Saxon potato soup, beef broth with a choice of additions, salads and familiar inn dishes. A salad can be supplemented with ingredients such as grilled goat's cheese or a small schnitzel. There is a summer terrace, and a separate salon can be arranged for smaller celebrations. Ask which room or outdoor area is available if the setting is particularly important to your meal.

Villa Marie is at 1 Fährgäßchen in Blasewitz. Published opening is 11:30–22:30 daily, with the kitchen closing at 21:00. Online table bookings are limited to eight people and require advance notice; for a larger party or a request that the booking system cannot accommodate, use the direct telephone or email contact.
