The difference
Hosts pay no booking commission and receive their host amount in full. A guest cost contribution of 6.9% of the host amount is already included in the displayed total. It contributes to payment processing, refund handling and payment loss costs.
Take a simple example: an owner who wants to earn R 18 620 for a week.
| What each platform takes | Airbnb | Booking.com | BookNoFees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Host booking commission | 15,5% | 15%–25% | 0% |
| Payment processing & protection | included | contract-specific | 6,9% |
| Owner keepson a R 18 620 listing | R 15 734 | R 13 965–R 15 827 | R 18 620 |
| Guest paysfor R 18 620 to reach the owner | R 22 027 | R 21 897–R 24 820 | R 19 905 |
Over 18 weeks let, that is more than R 37 240 a year in this example — money that stays with the guest or reaches the owner.
Rates checked in September 2026. Under its single-fee structure, Airbnb charges most hosts 15,5%; Airbnb says other hosts typically pay between 14% and 16%. Exceptions depend on country and account type. Booking.com sets the commission rate in each accommodation agreement, and visibility programmes may increase it. This worked example uses a possible range of 15% to 25%. If Booking.com facilitates payment, the applicable payment terms and transaction cost are contract-specific. Our 6,9% cost contribution is included in the displayed total and contributes towards Stripe payment fees and refunds. Nothing is added at checkout and nothing is deducted from the owner. Fee models can change, so please check each platform’s current terms. Sources: Airbnb Help Center and Booking.com General Delivery Terms.
Popular places
Andalusia stretches across southern Spain, with Atlantic beaches, a Mediterranean coastline and mountain landscapes inland. Its landmarks tell different chapters of the region’s history: the Alhambra above Granada, the Mosque Cathedral of Córdoba and Seville’s Plaza de España. In Ronda, the Puente Nuevo crosses the Tajo gorge between the old town and the newer part of the city. These are places to build an itinerary around, rather than stops to squeeze into a single outing. Choosing where to stay starts with the landscape you want around you. El Palmar de Vejer is a coastal settlement associated with beach days and surfing. Tarifa is known for windsurfing and kitesurfing beside the Strait of Gibraltar. Mijas combines its whitewashed hillside village with coastal settlements on the Costa del Sol, so check the accommodation’s precise location when choosing between village streets and the shore. Jerez de la Frontera brings a different focus, with wine and flamenco woven into its cultural identity. For a stay that combines the coast with historic cities, plan the journeys between your chosen base and individual sights before settling on your route. Andalusia’s beaches, villages and monumental cities offer distinct settings for a vacation.
